Oh dear, I seem to have caused a quite a disturbance over that...
Just so you all can put your minds at rest, gore has nothing to do with a severed head. Not in the least. A head doesn't store all that much blood comparatively.
And so you all know, I agree that blood and gore have nothing to do with horror. It is gross and not frightening in the least. It's just disgusting. Dead bodies, however, are moderately creepy. That's more what I was leaning towards. Gore would just be repulsive :/
Either way, I think I'll shy away from that and head more towards one of the other directions... Probably the crushing of Dwayna's headpiece or something similar.
Eek....
I feel like I aught to apologize. Simply because I find skinless, macabre, and generally creepy things absurdly easy and fun to draw, but many people just shudder. So, I apologize for that, not considering what would be appropriate and or enjoyable to look at... I never started drawing the head. I was waiting to get feedback. Because I want to know what you guys want to see from where I'm at :]

There's absolutely no reason to apologize The workshop is here to help you grow and help you see other's viewpoints, and you also got a nice constructive discussion going, which we love seeing.

Welcome to the newcomers!
I like the new entries, they have awesome atmosphere and the Gaki made me laugh with that expression Good job!
EDIT: A side note to Thistle and those involved: I will be absolutely unavailable and pretty much impossible to reach on the 6th, 7th, and 8th of December.
Those who know why, please don't tell anyone. Thanks

I'm going to lol at myself once I finally decide I don't have enough time to finish this... /facepalm
..but I'm working up a few sketches. 3 ideas so far but I'm looking to narrow down to 1 good hand-painting. So, a question for anyone to help me on my third idea (or to throw it out):
If Gwen got a Lexus in the driveway from Thackeray this wintersday, what do you think it would be, a sleigh, yak or what?

Oh, macabre is fun and easy to draw (oddly, skulls are the one thing I find easiest to draw, and I have lots of fun with it. Ever draw a "smiling" skull in a cowboy hat with swirliness for the deepening of the eye sockets? Crazy cowboy skull! )
Gore isn't repulsive to me, but to most it is. It just isn't horror, and that's the route I'd go for with the darker side of Grenth.
I personally would probably go with some torn wings, but that's me.

I need better time management skills. Or just to simply be a SAHM again. >.<
After work (and getting Christmas tree decorated) I will start plotting out my project. Absolutely no idea where my tablet pen disappeared to....

Oh boy, I am ROYALLY screwed aren't I?
These works are too much for me! Just so ultra amazing I can't frigging believe it! I'm going to be holding up little pieces of paper in front of a live video low quality digital camera and hoping it all goes ok!
I still have to make all the characters
write a script that will be accepted and relevant to gw
and pracise all the different character voices and preparero read them all out at once
Am feeling pretty overwhelmed here

Don't let the abilities of others dishearten you;
They were ALL, at one point or another in your position I bet if you asked them, they would mostly still feel the exact same way. The only way to get better is to just keep working at it. Thats where I feel I'm at; getting past the sucking part.
If you put everything you've got into it now, you will atleast be able to see what you are strong at and weak at, so you can play on your strengths and build on your weaknesses next time ^^
-motivational speech-
Also, Valdis don't feel the need to apologize! There is no right or wrong answer with what you go with.

My entry
☆Hey, Thistle! I want to participate in the workshop!☆
Sas Ultra :
The Strength of Snow quest. Which is the inspiration for my art entry I wanted to capture the battle between the Snowmen and Grentches:
(Type of art Crafts) I used Clay(Green, white, red, black) and wires to build the grentches and snowmen :

(comments and advise)
P.S I just wanted to mention why I only have one picture of my entry the picture you see is my completed work. I did my project almost 2 weeks ago to prepare for the (Offical Wintersday Art Contest). BUT sadly it`s canceled I didnt want my hard work to be wasted. I think I did a good job I`m very proud. My mom deleted by accident -_- my other saved pictures of my art project SO I have no prior progress pictures to post, If i did I`d post them. The whole plan was to enter one picture to offical contest, but the cancellation through me off . I hope this dont hinder me in any way. Thank you

Welcome, and it's a shame about the WiPs So others are aware, are you still open to receiving feedback on how you set up your collage or any other tips?

very cool stuff! the Gaki picture really made me laugh, such an awesome idea XD and great sculpting skills on that Yakkington!
@ Sasultra: I really like what you've created, but unfortunately your collage doesn't show it off at all. All those photoshop filters are really confusing, and distort what you're trying to show. With some you can't even tell whether it's a painting or a sculpture you're entering... I'd suggest to pick one good photo, edit that very lightly so that the light/shadows and contrasts are fine, but you're still able to tell what's going on. If you wanted to make a collage, you should use pictures from different angles, and maybe one or two detail shots. Present them in a nice and clean layout, and it will portray your cool work in a much better way
Oh, and the photos need to be bigger! I wanna SEEEE what's going on

I was hoping I could get started on my piece, but somethings have... unfortunately come up. Definetly not in the mindset to draw anymore, but I'll try to keep helping everyone with what they're coming up with :/
